Scottsdale, AZ— Graythorn Development, LLC conducted a groundbreaking ceremony on July 11, 2017 of the Graythorn residences in North Scottsdale, a new for-sale home community located in North Scottsdale on East McDowell Mountain Rd. The infill community will include 27 new modern contemporary residences situated on a 3,595-acre site. Prices start in the mid #300,00s. In attendance from the City of Scottsdale were Councilwoman Suzanne Klapp and from the Planning and Development Department, Tim Curtis and Keith Niederer as well as other dignitaries.
“Graythorn Development is excited to be building I the exclusive North Scottsdale area,” said Craig Waddell of Graythorn Development. “We took a very thoughtful approach to design and ensure that the single-story residences still felt very spacious, light, and open. Each home has up to 12-foot ceiling and a private patio that blends with the natural Sonoran Desert landscapes — a rare find in Scottsdale and especially in a newly built home.”
Designed by Cypress Development, the single-story homes are offered in five floorplan options ranging in size from 1,210 square feet to 2,315 square feet with up to three bedrooms, three baths, and a den. The kitchens features quartz countertops with designer-necessities such as LED lighting and advanced wiring with RG6 and CAT5 cable for high-speed connections. Energy-efficient features include dual-glazed aluminum windows with low-E, energy-saving glass, and water-conserving toilets. Each residence also includes a private patio, two-car attached garage and interior laundry spaces.
The new community features easily sustained landscaping design with drought tolerant plants specifically selected for the Arizona Sonoran desert climate. The community also offers a residential sanctuary where the resident-style pool and spa, BBQ, and connected outdoor gathering spaces.
The residences include a number of design choices paying homage to the desert contemporary aesthetic of the surrounding neighborhood and businesses, with a series of creamy off-white and soft beige as the main palette, we color is excepting the residences. Wider wood tile planks a concrete tiles act to complement the interior architecture was still maintaining a timeless appeal.
“Graythorn started planning this community with impassioned vision for clean temporary design,” said Dean Selvey, principle of Arizona Builders Sales. “Graythorn is a step beyond what other builders may go; it delivers an elevated design aesthetic while still blending in with the surrounding neighborhood.”
Residents living at Graythorn will enjoy the convenience of the community’s proximity to top shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment, including Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland; and Westworld Events Center. Adjacent to the McDowell Mountain Sonoran Preserve, Graythorn is also about a two-mile driving distance from the 101 Highway.
